Composition Study #1

I saw this composition in a book and thought that it was very interesting.  Since I learn by doing, here is my version of it.  The artist used scallions, but I didn't have any, so I grabbed some asparagus and asked them to pretend.  The colors are pretty close to the original.

PS: I fixed the bottom on the light rectangular shape after the picture was taken.
